Information you give us

  • Messages you send through the contact page: we use them to reply to you and to correct our data.
  • Saved dog profiles and email alerts, when these features are available: the details you enter (such as your dog’s breed, weight and foods to avoid) and your email address, used only to provide those features.

Information collected automatically

  • Preferences stored in your browser, such as light or dark mode. These stay on your device.
  • Basic usage information, collected with PostHog: the pages you visit, which tools you use and what you click inside them, the page that sent you here, and your browser and device type.

How our analytics works

We use PostHog in cookieless mode. Nothing is stored on your device: no cookies, no local storage. To count visitors without identifying them, PostHog’s servers turn your IP address and your browser and device details into a short code, using a secret that changes every day. The code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and yesterday’s code cannot be matched to today’s, so we can neither follow you from one day to the next nor recognise you on another site.

We never send PostHog anything you type: not your dog’s details, not the text of a label you check, not your email address.

PostHog Inc. processes this data on servers in the United States.

To opt out, turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser settings and we will collect nothing. Blocking the script with a content blocker works too.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your personal information.
  • We don’t share your dog’s profile or your email address with dog food brands.

If you click a link to a retailer, that retailer may set its own cookies to track the referral. See our affiliate disclosure.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by contacting us through the contact page.
